Over the next few years BT are in the process of changing the current telephone network over to a IP (Internet Protocol) based system known as 21CN (21st Century Network).

Recent findings by the British Security Industry Association indicate that as a result of this transition up to half of the current PSTN digital communicators may not function with the new C21 setup.

That operate by sending alarm signals to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) over your standard telephone network (PSTN) phone line) in a event of an intrusion or other activation may get blocked and it is even possible they might send up to eight times.
